It may appear as a tattoo or graphic symbol; as part of the name of a group, publication, or website; or as part of a screen name or email address. It is sometimes even used as a greeting or sign-off code, particularly in messages on social media websites.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">The number is often combined with another White Supremacist numerical code, 14 (an abbreviation for the so-called \u201c14 Words\u201d: \u201cWe must secure the existence of our people and a future for White children\u201d), in forms such as 1488, 14\/88, 14-88, or 8814.<\/p>\n<p class=\"translation-block\">It should be noted that 88 can also clearly appear in non-extremist contexts. Radio operators use the number to mean \u201chugs\u201d or \u201chugs and kisses.\u201d In addition, several NASCAR drivers, including many highly well-known ones, have used the number 88, resulting in various car decals and other forms of merchandise featuring the number.<\/p>\n<h2><strong>88 Symbol with Hands<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>It is not surprising that White Supremacists occasionally attempt to represent 88 with their hands in photographs so that it is less easily detected by social media filters.
