The phrase “#AnuddaShoah” (sometimes written as “anuddah Shoah”) is an antisemitic expression that became popular among White Supremacists in 2014 and increasingly thereafter, particularly among supporters of the alt-right wing of the White Supremacist movement.
The “Shoah” is a Hebrew word meaning “catastrophe” or “destruction” and is one of the most commonly used terms to refer to the Holocaust. White Supremacists use the phrase “Anudda Shoah” to mock both Jewish people and the Holocaust. The expression is intended to sound like something said by a Jewish person speaking with an exaggerated Yiddish accent, comparing the Holocaust to virtually anything that might be unpleasant or inconvenient.
Common examples include expressions such as “Oy vey! It’s an Anudda Shoah!”, “It’s like an Anudda Shoah,” or “It’s literally anudda Shoah!” This language is typically used in response to something trivial, implying that Jewish people invoke the Holocaust in relation to almost any subject. For example: “They made us play football. It’s like Anudda Shoah!”
