The #AryanFist is a symbol depicting an upright clenched fist. It has been used from time to time, both graphically and as a gesture, to represent concepts such as defiance, and sometimes unity and strength.
During the 1960s and 1970s, Black nationalist groups in the United States and elsewhere frequently used a dark-skinned version of the clenched fist, or the same imagery, as a symbol of “Black Power.” By the 1980s, White Supremacists in the United States and elsewhere had appropriated the symbol, replacing it with a White Fist. White Supremacists have often claimed to use the symbol to represent “White Pride” or “White Power.”
