A widely used symbol is #TAN, derived from the name of the #AryanNations prison gang in Tennessee.
The largest White Supremacist prison gang in Tennessee calls itself the #AryanNations of Tennessee. The gang borrowed its name from the older neo-Nazi group of the same name, although the two are separate organizations with few connections. The Aryan Nations prison gang is also considerably larger than the neo-Nazi Aryan Nations group. The primary symbol of this racist prison gang consists of a circular Celtic Cross, with different symbols appearing in each of the quadrants formed by the circle and cross.
These may include the initials AN, the number 14/88, SS lightning bolts, prison bars, stars from the Confederate flag, swastikas, and other symbols. Gang members may also use other symbols, such as the numerical code 114 (replacing letters with numbers, where 1 and 14 correspond to A and N in the Latin alphabet, forming the name #AryanNations).
