AIM | WHITE SUPREMACIST SYMBOL

The #AmericanIdentityMovement (#AIM) was an alt-right White Supremacist group founded in 2019 as a rebranding of #IdentityEvropa, one of the largest groups within the alt-right wing of the White Supremacist movement. The group also maintained a podcast.

The #AmericanIdentityMovement (#AIM), formerly known as #IdentityEvropa, dissolved in November 2020. The decline of AIM began in November 2019, after the group's leader, Patrick Casey, began collaborating with “America First” podcaster Nick Fuentes and his Groyper movement.

Identity Evropa, founded only in 2016, quickly developed a significant negative reputation because of its participation in the #UniteTheRight White Supremacist rallies in Charlottesville in 2017, among other events. Many members were publicly exposed by the media or identified by antifa activists in the aftermath of Unite the Right.

In March 2019, Patrick Casey, the leader of Identity Evropa, announced the dissolution of #IE and the formation of #AIM, ostensibly as an entirely different organization. Casey, however, immediately invited all Identity Evropa members to join the new group. For all practical purposes, AIM was essentially Identity Evropa under a new name and with a new logo, and it continued to promote #hatespeech.
