The number 33 is used by followers of the #KuKluxKlan to represent the organization itself and its ideology. Since the 11th letter of the Latin alphabet is K, three Ks represent “#KKK,” or the Ku Klux Klan, as previously discussed in relation to the 311 symbol
When using this reference, members of the Ku Klux Klan often add the number 6 at the end, as in 33/6, because they believe that the KKK is currently in its post-era and a sixth historical new “era.” Less frequently, some members may still use the numerical code 33/5, referring to the organization’s last documented historical era.
From Roman Catholicism to the #LGBTQ+ Community
Aggressive rhetoric, alongside symbols, has consistently reinforced the KKK’s ideology. Across the 19th, 20th, and 21st centuries, this hostility has been directed at different groups, including Roman Catholics, Jews, Black people, as well as #LGBTQ+ communities, #PeopleWithDisabilities, and economically disadvantaged groups.
This numerical symbol can be found as a tattoo among members of various racist organizations associated with the KKK. A comparable example is the number 88, used by members of Nazi organizations as an identifying code
